MEET DORIS J. BURNEY
Doris has been a part of the healthcare field for about four decades as a nursing assistant. She has committed herself to helping others for the past thirty-nine years. A ray of hope for countless people, Doris treats and cares for those in need of comfort and affection.
Her work reflects her integrity and loyalty. What keeps her moving ahead is her willingness to help others around her and bring a smile to their faces. Since Doris was the oldest, she played a significant role in the upbringing of her siblings. This is how she developed love and affection for people, especially children.
TURNING GRIEF INTO AN INSPIRATION
After Derrel, her husband, was diagnosed with cancer, Doris was devastated. It was tough for her to see the person she loved the most go through so much pain. Perhaps that was the moment when Derrel realized that it was essential for Doris to find something that would give her a new purpose to fulfill. He began encouraging her to start writing.
After Derrel passed away, Doris began writing her first book, and without even realizing it, she completed The Lost Kitten Named Fluffy within a month. It was as if God had given her a sign.
She is an inspiration for so many people as she didn’t surrender to the hands of despair after her husband’s demise. Instead, she began to look at life from a new perspective. She is now working on additional projects dedicated to kids. Her books cover the most important aspects of life—love, friendship, and loss.
